Williamson County Brown Santa

Project Overview
In the Fall of 2024, I worked on a design team to partnered with Williamson County Brown Santa, a nonprofit serving families in need during the holiday season. We were tasked with redesigning their logo and building a unified brand identity. My role included visual exploration, logo refinement, color palette development, and co-creating the final brand style guide. Over several weeks, we met with the client to gather feedback and ensure the new identity aligned with their mission and values.

The Challenge
Brown Santa’s existing logo was difficult to scale, inconsistent across platforms, and lacked a reliable color system. Our challenge was to create a warm and trustworthy identity that improved clarity and recognition while staying simple enough for a team of non designers to use correctly. We needed a logo and color palette that were flexible, easy to apply, and practical for everything from print materials to digital communication.

Moodboard
We explored several visual directions before meeting with the client. After reviewing their feedback, we created a final moodboard that reflected the cowboy Christmas aesthetic they were most drawn to.

Logo Sketches
Once we had our final mood board, we moved into sketching logo ideas. My sketches focused on exploring typography layouts and the placement of illustrative elements to establish a clear structure for the design.

Round One Digital Drafts
We refined our top three logo concepts and presented them to the Brown Santa team. They selected the Santa logo as their favorite, and we took notes on their feedback and revision requests for the final logo.

Reflection
This project strengthened my skills in team collaboration, visual exploration, and client communication. I learned how to present design decisions clearly, navigate multiple rounds of feedback, and refine concepts with both creativity and structure. Building a full brand system from sketches to a comprehensive style guide gave me valuable experience in developing identities that are not only visually strong but also practical and easy to implement.
